Who we are
A youth-led, not-for-profit movement that turns “our environment is our home” into action.
Where we began
Think Green was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. What started as a small student club tackling litter has grown into a community-driven movement for young people, children, women, and whole communities.
Our programs run in Tanzania today. We're now starting in Charlottetown, Canada, and we welcome anyone who wants to help shape what happens there.
Our vision
A sustainable Tanzania, and a wider world, powered by bold young leaders and empowered communities, where caring for the environment is simply how we live.
How we work
- Youth leadership
- Through events like Eco-Leaders Rise, young people lead workshops, share ideas, and turn them into climate action.
- School outreach
- School eco clubs bring tree planting, climate education, and green spaces to students and their teachers.
- Community conservation
- Tree planting and cleanups that give shade, protect the coast, and bring neighbours together.
- Partnerships
- We work with organisations such as Global Platform Tanzania, Climate Fresk Tanzania, and Africa for SDGs to reach more people.

Our founder
Ilakiza started Think Green as a small student club tackling litter in Dar es Salaam. That club grew into a movement.
Ilakiza still leads Think Green, working with schools, volunteers, and partners in Tanzania and now in Canada.
